In this role, you will define and execute functional, load, compatibility, and user acceptance tests against a variety of products and components for embedded Linux software applications, Windows desktop, Windows server, and Web client environments as an individual and team contributor.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
•Create and maintain detailed test plans based on business and technical requirements and system design documents•Facilitate test plan reviews, both internal and w ith cross-functional groups•Execute manual test cases/test plans in system test environment•Work with development team members as needed to review design implications•Work with development team to troubleshoot and debug issues found•Troubleshoot application, web and Windows environmental issues to identify root cause•Isolate and report defects found, escalating serious quality issues to management•Willing to learn and develop skills and knowledge•Demonstrated ability in solving problems as part of a team or individually•Demonstrated ability in testing/validating complex systems and software designs•Accurately scopes tasks and implements them in accordance with the scoping plan•Starts and finishes tasks with minimal management oversight•Completes assigned tasks on schedule, with the ability to prioritize work in order to find the most critical issues early•Maintains a positive attitude throughout typical work related challenges•Interfaces well with individua ls outside of engineering•Organizes time and workflow to maximum productivity•Demonstrated aptitude in recognizing and solving problems•Ability to write basic SQL queries required•Knowledge of XML required•Knowledge of Linux command line required•Shell scripting experience a plusMinimum Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:•3+ years of demonstrated proficiency.•The candidate must be self-managed, and proactively solve issues and problems with a minimum of direction.•Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute at a high level in a tight-knit team environment are a must.
